Welcome to a fantastic, ever-shifting dream world. Familiar faces meet creatures you’ve never imagined, and the next door could lead just about anywhere.

FROM THE WORKSHOP / NOVEMBER 2026 UPDATE

The road to
March 2027.

A free Bufus Games framework. Human-made artwork. More games to build together.

Only the Bufus Games core module will be released for free. Grab It! Let’s Go! (GILG), including its own game-specific core rules, is a separate paid game. Like all other Bufus Games games, GILG is built on the Bufus Games framework. Over the next few months, I’m compiling our play-tested rules and developing human-made artwork. A crowdfunding campaign targeted for March 2027 will support games, expansions, game cards, and other products built on that framework.

  1. Bring the core rules together

Consolidated draft of the free Bufus Games core module and artwork plan.

    Current focus
    Milestone details

Gather play-tested rules and examples into a consistent working edition. List remaining rules questions and human-made artwork needs, and share the starting point in the newsletter.

  2. Refine the game and its look

Reader-ready sample and human-made artwork previews.

    Planned
    Milestone details

Edit for clarity and useful examples. Develop human-made artwork alongside the rules. Choose Patreon or a website members portal and define proposed benefits.

  3. Invite early readers

Early access and first Advance Review Copies, subject to readiness.

    Planned
    Milestone details

Open optional membership once access and benefit details are ready. Prepare advance review copies, gather feedback, and invite input through selected polls and development discussions. The Bufus Games core module will be free when released.

  4. Get the campaign ready

Campaign preview and launch readiness review.

    Planned
    Milestone details

Review early feedback and revise the working material. Confirm which games, expansions, cards, and related products the campaign will include, with costs, rewards, and production estimates.

  5. Launch crowdfunding

Games, expansions, game cards, and more built on the free Bufus Games framework.

    Target
    Milestone details

Confirm the launch date after the February readiness review. Open the campaign when its scope, costs, rewards, and production estimates are ready, and share the next production milestones.

Proposed milestones. Rules, artwork, and community work overlap; dates may shift as the work develops. March is our crowdfunding target. The free Bufus Games core module’s release date and campaign product delivery dates will be announced separately.

A closer seat
at the table.

I plan to open a supporter community through Patreon or a dedicated members area here on the website. Planned benefits include special pre-release access, Advance Review Copies, votes on selected development choices, opportunities to help guide the work, and acknowledgment in the finished releases.

Membership will be optional; the Bufus Games core module will be available free when released. I’ll share the platform, membership options, and exact benefits before enrollment opens.
